The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is usually a requirement for admissions, scholarships or assistantships at a graduate school in most American universities. GRE scores are an admission requirement for Masters or doctoral programs in different fields other than the management. Good GRE scores are one of the decisive factors for both admissions and scholarships at reputed American universities. It is a Computer Adaptive Test administered at USEF in Nepal. The test assesses student's verbal, quantitative and analytical writing skills that are required for success at graduate level.

The GRE has the following format

An information bulletin for GRE can be collected from the USEF at Gyaneshwor. Students should register for the test online or by sending the application form and the test fee to the regional office of Sylvan Learning Centre in Malaysia. USEF in Nepal serves as a test center only.

PCEC Pvt. Ltd conducts preparation classes for GRE test takers. The course runs for 8 weeks. GRE classes are conducted between 7 AM and 6 PM Monday to Friday. Three sections of GRE preparation course are facilitated by three different instructors. The analytical writing section is conducted in the forms of workshops, where students participate in group writing activities and receive both peer feedback and teachers' comments so that they can improve their writing skills as well as able to get good score.
